Pork bun

아이들이 좋아하는 패킹덕 요리를 돼지 고기로 만들어 봤어요. 생각보다 쉽게 집에서 만들수 있는 요리가 됬네요. 디너에 초대 받았을때 예쁜 프레더 접시에 올려 가져 갔을때도 완전 인기 만점 있였어요. 맛도 중요하지만 빼 놓을수 없는 프리센테이션.. 참 이쁘죠?


I picked up this recipe from watching Guy Ferrai's triple D's in travel channel where he visits unique restaurants all over the country. When chef shares their popular dishes, I like to try it, of course with my own twist and easier version of it. This pork bun turned out deliciously and my kids loved~  it. They thought it taste just like pecking duck only with pork which they also love.

What you need:
Steam bun, pork belly, about half bunch of cilantro, thinly sliced green onion, hoisin sauce, few garlic cloves, 1 small ginger root, soy sauce, sugar, pinch of pepper,  1-2 cinnamon stick ( optional)

=Steam pork belly with 2 garlic sliced, 1 small ginger root sliced  on top of it. Until it's done.

= Place pork belly in a pot of water enough to cover it. Place 2 garlic clove, 1 small ginger root, 1-2 cinnamon stick ( depends on how much you like the flavor of cinnamon) in the pot. Boil it till it's cooked.
=When pork belly is done, put it on a different plate let it cool for little bit. Then slice it in 1/2-1/3 inch thickness.
=In a different pot, put sauce mixture (soy sauce, sugar, pinch of pepper, 1 sliced garlic clove), place steamed/boiled pork belly and let it simmer till favor soaks in. (about 5-10 minutes, keep on eye on it so it won't burn)
=Steam the bun according to the instruction.
=Place the pork belly inside bun, top it with sliced green onion, fresh cilantro leaf, drizzle hoisin sauce according to your taste and serve.
